What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a powerful, body-based therapy that helps you process and release trauma, stress, anxiety, and emotional blocks stored deep in the nervous system. It works by identifying specific “brainspots”—eye positions connected to stored trauma—so your brain and body can do what they naturally know how to do: heal.

Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting combines the science of how trauma is stored with the intuitive wisdom of the body. It’s gentle, deeply effective, and works even when words fall short.

At Healing Insight, we offer Brainspotting in two formats:

How Does Brainspotting Work?

We guide you to a specific point in your visual field that correlates to where the trauma or emotion is held in your brain. With that spot as an anchor, your brain begins to process in a focused, yet non-verbal way—often leading to surprising insights, emotional release, and physical relief.

You don’t have to re-tell or re-live the traumatic event. Your body leads. We follow.

This makes Brainspotting ideal for both single-incident trauma (like a car accident or medical emergency) and relational/complex trauma (like childhood neglect, emotional abuse, or systemic oppression).

Traditional Brainspotting Therapy

Weekly 50-minute sessions with a licensed therapist who is trained in Brainspotting and attuned to your healing pace. Ideal for:

Cycle Maker Intensives: Brainspotting Edition

Our Cycle Maker Intensives use Brainspotting (and often EMDR, somatic, and holistic wellness tools) to help you move through months of therapy work in just a few days. This accelerated format is ideal if you:

▪️Are a high-functioning cycle breaker who feels stuck

▪️Want targeted relief around a particular trauma, transition, or block

▪️Need clarity for the next season of your life

▪️Are traveling from out of town or have limited availability for weekly sessions

Each intensive includes:

▪️A 90-minute pre-intensive consultation

▪️A customized multi-hour deep-dive intensive session

▪️A 90-minute post-intensive integration session

No. You can share as little or as much as you want. The healing happens in the body, not the story.

Can I use insurance for Brainspotting?
Yes—for traditional weekly therapy. Intensives are cash-pay only and include added resources that insurance doesn’t cover.

Can I fly in for an intensive?
Yes. We offer in-person intensives in Palm Beach County, FL. Retreat add-ons include lodging, massage, and curated wellness experiences.
